We’re Going on a Bear Hunt!

Today room 4 decided to go on our own Bear Hunt after we read the very exciting picture book “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”. We retold the book in our own words as we went around the school to look for bears. We took musical instruments and other items to help to recreate some of the places and sounds from the story. We then came back to class and wrote about our Bear Hunt, and read our stories aloud for the class on our Author’s Chair.

This was very very exciting but, just so you know..... there are no bears in St. Clare’s!

Healthy drinks!

We have been talking a lot lately about fizzy drinks and fruit juices and how bad they can be for your teeth and health. One of the boys in our class has come up with the AMAZING idea to put some cucumber, apple, strawberry and mint leaves (from home) into his water bottle instead of diluted juice! We are so excited because we get fruit in school as part of our breakfast and Food Dudes so we can use this fruit to flavor our water! The fruit makes the water taste so delicious and we are never going to drink fizzy juice or fruit juice again!!!

2-D and 3-D Shape Constructions!

Sportathon!

We had an amazing day today at our sportathon. Have a look at some of the activities we took part in.

We had athletics with Ms Brady, played parachute games with Mr Walsh, competed in grass races with Mr McMenamin and Mr McGuinness, practiced ball skills with Mr Tierney, completed hall circuits with Ms Meehan, Mr. Arkins and Mrs Brennan, got treated to a wonderful yoga experience with Ms Fitzpatrick, got our funky dance moves going with Ms Hughes, completed orienteering with Mrs Reilly and Mrs Brady, and completed skipping with Mr McGovern. We also received a very informative talk on healthy eating from Mrs Mc Cahill and got treated to yummy ice-cream by Mrs. Simmons and Lorraine! Thank you to all these teachers who made the day so fun!
